Whole Grain Nation!
Did you know?
•Starting in January, all cereals with the white check (more than 50 varieties) will have more whole grain than any other single ingredient - with the same great taste.
•You will now see whole grain as the first ingredient on the ingredient listing, indicating that whole grain is the first and most prevalent ingredient.
•A new side panel on every cereal box with the white check will highlight the grams of whole grain per serving, making it easier to find foods that help you get the recommended daily serving of 48 grams.
•With all the health messages facing grocery store shoppers, it can be confusing to translate what appears on food labels into nutritional needs, and hard to determine which foods have a meaningful amount of whole grain. To help clear up that confusion, General Mills developed "Fast Lane For Whole Grain," an online educational game.
Visit http://www.wholegrainnation.com/ to navigate virtual grocery store aisles and identify products that have whole grain as the first ingredient, with the option to enter a sweepstakes to win one of each of the 50 cereals with the white check. Plus, check out Dr. Travis Stork in this brief video on how to find whole grain and this clip from his show, "The Doctors."
Pledge that this year's diet will be full of tasty whole grain options by simply pouring a bowl of cereal with the white check, including Cheerios®, Lucky Charms®, Cinnamon Toast Crunch®, Honey Nut Cheerios® and Total® and spread the word to family and friends to do the same.
