There's Always An Easier Way, And This Is One Of Them! ReliOn Giveaway!

Have I ever taken a rectal temperature on one of my children? Nope. I've been lucky. I don't plan on taking one either, just for the record. I think if children are sick, rectal temperature taking will only make them feel worse. I'm a nurse, and before you tell me about rectal temperatures being more accurate, I've got one thing to say. Thermometers have come along way. I can see where oral vs. rectal may not be accurate, but these new generation thermometers are wonderful! Recently I received the ReliOn Temple Touch Thermometer. To disclose, I was given two, one to review and one to give away to one of my readers in exchange for this review. Opening the package, I immediately began trying it out. The instructions are printed on a sticker, which is placed on the battery cover. Batteries are included by the way. I hate when they aren't, don't you? The ReliOn Temple Touch Thermometer fits easily in the palm of my hand. It is extremely light and easy to hold. The bottom is flat so you can stand it on a table or counter without it falling over. Unlike some thermometers, there is no lining up dots or pointing laser beams at your child's precious head. Simply turn the unit on and immediately a beep will sound, wait for a pair of beeps, which let you know that the thermometer is ready. Next, it's time to move in on your child, hopefully while they are sleeping! After another beep, the accurate temperature will be displayed.. How does it compare to other thermometers? Well, I used a regular digital oral thermometer, another brand temple thermometer, and ReliOn Temple Touch. They were all within 0.2 degrees. Close enough in my opinion. The ReliOn was right down the middle! Now I said it's better to use this when your little one is asleep, especially if they are in those curious toddler years. Unless you can sneak up on them, you will probably need a distraction. Six seconds spent waiting on that final beep can seem like a very long time, especially when you are trying to hold the Temple Touch against your child's temple! I like the memory recall function and not having to use probe covers. The Temple Touch is easy to clean between uses. With flu season approaching, I am happy to have this new addition in our household! These thermometers are sold at WalMart and Sams Club. At under $10, they are a real bargain! US Residents can win one! To enter, leave a comment and tell me how you will be protecting your family against the flu! Follow me for an additional entry! If you follow me with Networked Blogs, leave two additional comments. Add me to your Technorati Faves or Stumble this post for two additional entries! Blog about this giveaway and link to this post and ReliOn for five extra entries! Be sure top leave the link in each additional comment! Giveaway ends midnight September 25, 2009! Good Luck!

At my sons elementary school, they don't make them wash their hands before lunch, So I have trial size hand sanitizer bottles clipped to their lunch boxes, so they can clean their hands before they eat at school everyday.
