I have worn contacts/glasses since 1992, the summer before my high school senior year. I started out wearing Acuvue, then over the years I switched to Acuvue 2 and later, Acuvue Advance. My contacts were always comfortable, but my eyes were dry and sometimes gritty towards the end of the day. During my last eye exam, I was fitted with a pair of CIBA and a pair of Acuvue OASYS with Hydraclear Plus. I was told to take them both home and wear them for two weeks. I would return to my eye doctor in one month for my prescription. My how contacts have changed! After wearing both sets of lenses, I decided on Acuvue OASYS with Hydraclear Plus. I have nothing against CIBA, they were comfortable too. But after sitting at the computer for hours, reading, TV, outdoor and indoor activities, my eyes were not dry (at all!) with the Hydraclear Plus! I could wear them all day and into the night. The lenses were refreshing and moist. I have not bought any rewetting drops since I switched. Before Acuvue OASYS with Hydraclear Plus, I used drops several times each day. OASYS soothed my dry and sometimes irritated eyes with MOISTURE. I suffer from occasional allergies, my eyes tend to get a little itchy and red. In the past, I would switch to glasses because my contacts were not as comfortable during those times. Not anymore. Acuvue OASYS with Hydraclear Plus are so comfortable, sometimes I need to check the mirror to make sure I am still wearing lenses. Even though they are FDA-approved for continuous, overnight wear for up to one week, I took mine out each night. I tried overnight wear years before and after waking up with lenses stuck to my eyes and literally prying them off...well, I will never do that again. I thought about trying it for the review. I guess I'm not that brave. Soon after I received my prescription and another trial pair, I was asked to do this review. I received 6 pair of lenses in exchange for my opinion of Acuvue OASYS. The timing was a coincidence, and a lucky one for me. Here's a little more about Acuvue Contact Lenses:
Highest UV protection
All ACUVUE® contact lenses protect portions of your eyes by blocking at least 82% of UV-A radiation and 97% of UV-B radiation‡ – even higher in some lenses. Pair them with sunglasses and a wide-brimmed hat for the most complete protection for your eyes.
Visibility tint
ACUVUE® contact lenses are lightly tinted so you can spot them in your lens case or if you drop one – all without affecting how you see or how you look.
Inside-out marker
Applying your lenses correctly is as easy as the "1-2-3" printed on the side of most ACUVUE® lenses. If it's inside out, the 1-2-3 will appear reversed when viewed from the side.
There is an Acuvue for every contacts wearer! ACUVUE® OASYS™ Brand for PRESBYOPIA, ACUVUE® OASYS™ Brand for ASTIGMATISM, and ACUVUE® OASYS™ Brand with HYDRACLEAR® Plus! And the list goes on! Check them out!
