Johnsonville Sausage Hosts Firehouse Challenge with Special Judge Atlanta Falcon Desmond Trufant
Atlanta Friends!!!
There is a free event October 20 with free samples of chili or stew!
Johnsonville is hosting an Atlanta firehouse challenge to honor the men and women who dedicate their lives to protecting the community. The challenge, a crosstown cook-off, will feature a pair of firehouses competing for the title of best chili or stew recipe. The challenge is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 20 at Firehouse Station 19, located at 1063 North Highland Ave. NE and is free to the public. Also attending the event from 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. as a guest judge will be Atlanta Falcons standout cornerback Desmond Trufant.
The competing stations, Stations 19 and 30, will create and cook their own chili or stew recipe featuring Johnsonville Sausage and a seasonal vegetable. The incorporation of other local ingredients is encouraged. The recipes will be judged by event attendees along with Trufant, and the winning house will receive a special Johnsonville trophy. Johnsonville is also donating $5,000 to the city’s fire department to show support and appreciation for their hard work in the community.
The event is open to the public and food samples will be free for all attendees in order to help determine the winning recipe. Complete details are listed below.
