Tiny Signs!

My oldest began verbally communicating with me before he was a year old. While he couldn't ask for everything, we did develop a language of our own. Somehow, I could understand his babbling. It was even cute. However, my youngest will use a word proudly once or twice, and then it is long forgotten. I wondered if we would benefit from learning sign language. My little one was becoming more and more frustrated, so I sat down and watched the DVDs, copying each sign. After many evenings spent watching the series My Baby Can Talk, and reading the colorful board books, I must admit that I am no longer skeptical. My Baby Can Talk! Well, a couple of words at least! The first time he signed for milk, I thought it was coincidence. Then it happened again. I was happy and Sam was proud too! Sam still has quite a few temper tantrums, but I am optimistic that they will happen less often as he learns to communicate. We have picked up a couple of words and we are not giving up. These DVDs are also helping him to verbally communicate. By hearing the same words repeated, he has made attempts to copy more than the signs! I am positive that further devotion will yield even better results! Would you like to win My Baby Can Talk – First Signs DVD and board book? Leave a comment and let me know which sign you would like your baby to use! Follow me for a second entry! Giveaway is open to US residents and ends at midnight August 1, 2009! Good Luck!

  3. I taught my first child some signs but never had a DVD. This would be great. I would like to teach my baby the sign for "sorry." That's a harder word to say but then you can teach them to still apologize when they do bad things.
